Bug: 3-5 Second Delay When Activating Voice Recording After April 29, 2025 Update

Problem Description:

After installing the update from April 29, 2025, a significant delay (approximately 3-5 seconds) has appeared between the moment of activating the extension (via hotkeys or button on the popup panel) and the ability to start dictation. Before the update, recording was activated instantly.

System Information:

• Extension version: 4.2.3

• Operating system: Windows 11 Home (24H2)

• Browser: Google Chrome 136.0.7103.49 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Comments:

This issue creates serious inconvenience, considering that the extension is activated hundreds of times during the workday. The situation is especially critical when using headphones, which are not always worn during work. Because of this, I don't receive the audio signal about the start of recording and don't understand when I can start dictation.

I suggest the following solutions:

1. Restore the previous speed of voice input activation without delay

2. Add an additional visual indicator of readiness for recording, for example:

   • Different colors for different states of the panel (red - recording is possible/active, yellow - waiting for connection)

   • Animated icon during connection waiting

   • Text message about readiness status

Such visual indicators would significantly improve the user experience, especially when audio signals are unavailable or inaudible.
